Scott is a transformative C-suite executive who has spent the past 30 years advising and executing on behalf of businesses and governments in some of the nation’s most highly regulated industries including automotive, alcohol, solid waste, finance, oil and gas and travel. As Chief Administrative and Legal Officer at Ayr Wellness, he combines legal acumen and operational leadership, drawing on decades of experience in both private practice and guiding companies through complex regulatory, litigation, and organizational challenges.

Over his career, Scott has served as a trusted advisor to boards, CEOs, and investors alike, leading diverse business functions spanning legal, compliance, insurance, labor, partnerships, properties, legislative affairs, and human resources at both public and private companies.

Scott’s past roles include senior legal and administrative leadership positions at AutoNation, Republic Services,  National  Car Rental, Alamo Rent A Car, and Advantage Rent-A-Car, where he has held roles including Secretary, Chief Administrative Officer, and General Counsel. Alongside these in-house roles, he worked at international law firms and has built a respected private practice, advising on complex litigation, employment law, M&A, and other transactional matters. Scott and his firm have served as M&A advisors for multiple institutional investors. He has also served as interim CEO, CAO and General Counsel for founders and private equity–backed companies navigating growth, distress, and reorganization.
