David W. Pijor, Esq., is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of FVCbank, a publicly traded community bank he helped found in 2007. Under his leadership, FVCbank has grown into a $2+ billion institution serving the Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Northern Virginia markets, with specialized expertise in highly regulated industries, including licensed cannabis businesses.

Before entering banking, Mr. Pijor practiced law for more than three decades, focusing on business, mergers, and international transactions. This legal foundation informs his pragmatic approach to regulatory compliance, risk management, and governance—capabilities that are critical to the cannabis sector’s continued maturation.

At FVCbank, Mr. Pijor has guided the development of a disciplined cannabis banking program designed to balance access to capital and services with accountability. His work centers on helping operators transition from cash-heavy environments toward transparent, institution-ready financial practices, strengthen compliance readiness, and align financial practices with investor and lender expectations.
