People of color are disproportionately criminalized for cannabis use. Families and generations have been ruined by non-violent offenders wasting potential in jail. Legal cannabis supply chains can include those most-disadvantaged by the War on Drugs and offer sustainable careers and equity ownership. New Jersey can build a regulatory system that demands inclusion and promotes a thriving grassroots economy.Common sense demands immediate expungement of criminal records, prisoner re-entry support, and a re-evaluation of the relation between policing and cannabis.
